Uses

Known to bring fertility to women and aid erectile dysfunction in men. Relieves inflammation topically and internally, soothing sore muscles and painful joints. The bark has been proven highly effective in treating osteoarthritis, also used with rheumatism and arthritis. "Amongst the Tikunas, a decoction of the bark, in one-tablespoon doses before meals, is considered to be treatment for diarrhea. The crushed leaves are also rubbed on painful joints for relief." 1
